Custom Wooden Bed: Dimensions, Materials and the Production Process
We spend roughly a third of our lives in bed. A custom-made wooden bed — precisely for your space, your mattress size and your style — is therefore a worthwhile choice.
Why a custom bed over off-the-shelf?
Standard beds are available immediately but limited in size options and detail. A custom bed fits the room precisely, accommodates non-standard mattress dimensions and can be designed exactly to your interior — including storage, headboard style and wood species.
Wood species for a bed
Oak is the most prestigious choice — decorative grain and excellent strength. Ash is lighter and more springy, ideal for modern and Scandinavian bedrooms. Beech offers solid strength at a lower price. Pine is light and rustic — great for a country or children's room.
Dimensions and construction details
For one person we recommend 90×200 cm, for two people 160×200 or 180×200 cm. The frame height, slat fixing method and joinery technique all matter — a well-made solid bed should never creak.
Production and delivery process
We start by confirming dimensions and design — an email with a sketch or inspiration image is enough. We prepare a quote. After approval production starts (3–6 weeks). We deliver and assemble directly at your home.
